Chef, Gustavo Diaz

Executive Chef Gustavo Diaz helms the kitchen of Amalia, the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in the Lennox Hotel Miami Beach. 

In his current role, Gustavo taps into his experience and extensive knowledge in various cuisines to execute the creative culinary vision for the restaurant. At Amalia, the chef focuses on a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu that melds Mediterranean cuisine with the flavors of Latin America.

Meet Our Chef

Gustavo migrated to Miami Beach from Argentina 23 years ago. Cooking and creating experiences has always been a passion of his, influenced by his Italian grandmother who introduced him to the culinary world. Because of this, his specialty has always been geared towards Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.

In 2022, Gustavo and his wife got the chance to visit Italy and Greece for a well deserved vacation and opportunity to expand his culinary knowledge. Gustavo has had the pleasure of putting his skillset to use at world renowned restaurants such as Cibo, Ago at the Shore Club by Robert Deniro and Casa Tua.

Gustavo's love for food doesn't stop at a professional level, you can find him at the nearest grill putting his Argentinian roots to good use for his family and loved ones, fishing with his children or enjoying restaurants across south Florida.
